George is now retired from the City of Weatherford where he served as City Administrator for 30 years. Prior to that, George was a City Commissioner and Vice Mayor for 5 years, and worked as a T. G. & Y. store manager for 16 years. He has served on the SWODA Board 1971-present, Chair since 1987; member of CMAO, previous OML Board member; 1991 Don Rider Award recipient; Weatherford Chamber Hall of Fame and Cushing High School Alumni Hall of Fame. In 2004, George was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame for City and Town Officials.

George has served on the OMRF Board of Trustees since 1982; Board Chair since 1996; and serves on the Administrative Committee.
